Amy Marshall, a Wake County GOP member and candidate recruiter, and her board members have started a new North Carolina teachers’ association, the Carolina Teachers Alliance (CTA). It was formed to counter and provide a better option to the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE). There are several reasons why the idea of creating an alternative Teachers’ Alliance was initiated. A primary driver can be found in the words of Lieutenant Governor, Mark Robinson, “I am supportive of all groups that want to ensure that education is free from political agendas and are striving to give educators who are of the same mind an organization that will support them”.

The CTA offers tiered memberships for all school staff, parents, and community members. The Goal is to represent North Carolina’s 80% of teachers who are not in the NCAE. CTA is a nonprofit corporation whose articles of incorporation were filed with NC Secretary of state in January 2021 as a 501 (c) (6). Please see their website for the benefits provided to member school staff and community members: carolinateachers.org.

A CTA team will be hosting a launch party in the Wilmington Area Saturday 4/17 from 10 am to 1pm. You are invited to attend and gain more information about how this impacts your children and grandchildren as well as learning about the benefits that will be afforded to both people in educational fields as well as interested family members. Coffee, bagels, donuts, games, and guest speakers will all be a part of the launch party. It should be a fun morning.

The “Wilmington Area Launch Party” will be held at NORTHERN REGIONAL PARK – Park Shelter #2, 4700 Old Avenue, Castle Hayne, NC 28429
