GOP Needs Many More Election Judges & Precinct Assistants ASAP

Timely Republican Applications Can Bump Unaffiliated & Democrat Officials!

Apply to serve as a paid Precinct Official: Election Judge or Precinct Assistant serving inside the polls as soon as possible in positions that will be filled starting immediately for the Nov 8, 2022 General Election.

If you apply soon Will Knecht, our GOP chairman, will be able to nominate you to serve in your precinct and the Electoral Board MUST appoint you to serve there, giving preference to earlier nominations.

If there are no slots currently available in your precinct, you jump into the pool of election officials where the Chair of the Board of Elections MUST appoint Republicans (if available) to serve in a different precinct where Republicans have even more needs.

Also, there will likely be an Emergency Election-Day Assistants pool that the Board appoints this summer likely beginning July 12 who get trained and paid automatically then are assigned as needed on or before election day when appointed officials can’t serve.

You must have already applied and been qualified by staff before the Will can appoint you starting immediately and ongoing into the summer. So, step on it!

Application Process:

Click on Election Day Workers to read Election Official Positions descriptions, qualifications and compensation. Scroll down to see the current judges appointed in your precinct, some will be replaced this summer.

Click on Election Official Application to apply online. The application closes many weeks before elections and re-opens when elections finish. (Democrat school board primary recount)

Email Julius Rothlein rothlein@gmail.com immediately providing your full name, precinct, position & date applied and willingness to serve in other precincts so he can get you timely nominated by Will Knecht.  Your timely nomination can block Unaffiliated & Democrat voters from being appointed in precincts where no Republicans qualified.

Expect to receive email from Electoral Board staff confirming your application with invitation to attend a required zoom screening session to hear more details about the positions, ask questions and receive & return the required technology survey so staff can place you in a proper role.

The email also explains HR requirements to employ you through county HR/payroll system which requires I-9 citizenship paperwork and personal information; you cannot miss deadlines.

Jules and his team will monitor your application status and communicate as needed with you to get you timely nominated to serve then track your nomination through appointment either by the full Board or Chairman depending on the timing of your nomination and the position. So ASAP is best!

Once qualified, nominated and appointed, you will receive training and training materials to serve from the Board of Elections staff.

Thank you for serving to enable fair elections in New Hanover County!
